Week #7 Resolve to Bless your Children

“May God Almighty bless you and make you fruitful and multiply you, that you may become a company of peoples. May He also give you the blessing of Abraham, to you and to your descendants with you.” Gen 28:3-4

Resolution Point #4: I WILL bless my children and teach them to love God with all of their hearts, all of their minds, and all of their strength.

How do we instill God's word in our kids lives?

1. God's word must be on our heart. Are you in the word daily? Do you walk with Him?

2. Training your kids must take place in the context of a close relationship. Do you have a relationship with them?

When should you teach the word to your kids?

 Deuteronomy 6:6-7 "These commandments I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. "

We are to be about the Father's business teaching our kids ALL the time. We do this by our words and more importantly by our actions.

The Three most powerful things you can give your kids are: Attention, Affirmation, and Affection

Make them feel valued with you time, tell them they are important and special, and tell them you LOVE them. Remember God wants to spend time with us, we are important to Him, and He gave His only Son for us. That is how much He loves us.

Courageous Challenge: Talk with your kids this week and “bless” them by telling them how much you love them and are proud of them.

Memory Verse: “Give me your heart, my son, and let your eyes delight in my ways” Proverbs 23:26

Week #6 Resolve to Love Your Wife

Hebrews 13:4 "Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge"

Resolution Point #3 I WILL be faithful to my wife, to love and honor her, and be willing to lay down my life for her as Christ did for me?

Do you treat our wife as HOLY? Is your marriage viewed as priceless? Do you love your wife unconditionally?

What safety measures have you put in place to guard your marriage? Your wife doesn't need to keep you accountable, find another MAN of God. Who keeps you accountable, who asks you the difficult questions? Are you being totally honest with what you view on the Internet?

Courageous Challenge for week #6: Set up one or more protective boundaries in your life this week to help you guard you heart and your marriage.

We have 9 weeks left in the study. Once we are finished with the study I want to have a resolution signing ceremony. Where we as Men of Resolution say before God and our Family that the world's manhood is not acceptable for me, I will be held to a higher standard. If you have 1) read the book, 2) Watch the movie Courageous, and 3) been to at least 3 weeks of the morning meetings; then come and stand with us as Men who want to be set apart to Authentic Manhood and sign the Resolution with your family at our Resolution Signing Ceremony.

Can you step up to the challenge?

Lead your heart, don't follow it. Lead your family. Lead from the front showing the way.

Resolve to Lead your Family

Joshua 24:15 "As for me and my house we will serve the Lord"

Point #2 of the Resolution-I will love them, protect them, and teach them the Word of God as the spiritual leader of my home.

I remember as a kid being at my sisters house seeing Joshua 24:15 framed on the wall. I thought it was cool to have a Bible verse up in the house. My brother in law is a solid Christian MAN. I consider him one of my solid examples I look up to, to this day. I now realize the importance of taking the stand to declare before God and your family the direction all in your house will go.

They will follow your lead...which way are you taking them?

We have to remember what God gave Joshua as he was commissioned the leader of His people after Moses.
1. God ORDAINED authority.
2. God's WORD.
3. God's PRESENCE.
4. God's PEOPLE.

Seven times God encouraged Joshua to be "strong and courageous!"

Week #6 is coming up. Will you be there? Who will you bring?

Courageous Challenge: Begin the habit this week of reading at lest one chapter of God’s Word everyday.

Memory Verse: Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9

Resolve to be a Man of Responsibility

"When I was a child I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a Man. I did away with childish things." 1 Cor 13:11

We started going through the different points of The Resolution this morning. We had a great time going through point #1: I DO solemnly relove before GOD to take full responsibility for myself, my wife, and my children. We had an awesome time going through the study and the group time going through the questions. I was in a group with a a grandfather and 15 year old grandson. It was an honor to listen to the grandfather tell stories of his youth, when he realized he was a man, when he recieved Christ. It was awesome to see how he loved his grandson(s) and takes them to school everyday, I told the grandson that when he is my age he will miss and cherish the times together.

Who impacted you the most growing up? Who was your greatest influence? Who do you influence? Do you live a life of influence.

Next week we will be going through Chapter 5 Resolve to lead your family...Point #2 of the Resolution: I WILL love them, protect them, serve them, and teach them the Word of God as the spiritual leader of my home.

We have 11 weeks left in the study. Each week we will go through a different point of the Resolution. God is changing Men's lives in our community. Don't miss out, come be a part even if you haven't been yet or if you've missed a couple of weeks, BE THERE. God has a plan for you, for you to BIG and awesome things for His Kingdom.

Courageous Challenge for this week: Identify and initiate this week at least one important conversation you need to have with you son(s)

The Next Step

Men of Resolution,

Wow God is good!!! We had nearly 50 men this week. Normally a group like this shrinks over time but we have grown each week. This is a result of the men of this group inviting and asking their friends/brothers to come with them. I commend you but I want more. This "Resolution Group" is to be a group of men from a community coming together regardless of church affiliation and taking a stand that we will stand together as Men of God ready to go to battle for our families.

The next step in the CHALLENGE is "Are you willing to go the distance?" There are 12 chapters left in the book. Lets break it down even further there are 4 Thursdays in February: 2nd, 9th, 16th, and 23rd. I will be there ready to teach. The question is will you be there and who will you bring with you?

Week #2 A Lifelong Vision of Fatherhood

God is Good!! We had over 40 this morning. We had fathers bringing their sons, brothers bringing brothers, bosses bringing employees. There were over 8 churches represented from Coweta to Tulsa. Men of a community coming together saying we will be COURAGEOUS taking a stand for the Kingdom of God. What an awesome day.

Week # 2 A Lifelong Vision of Fatherhood

We looked at 2 different stories. 1st is a man abandonded by his father, rejecting God. 2nd a man raised by a Godly man, taught Biblical Manhood Principals who created a legacy of Faith for generations.

What is your vision for your family as father? What will be your legacy? Will God say "well done my good and faithful servant" or will the "wages" for your life be an eternity away from God?

Courageous Challenge: Pray for God to give you His vision for generational faithfulness.

Write a comment for your family vision.

Memory Verse: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV

This morning we had an 8th grader do the memory verse from last week. The result of a father with a vision for the legacy of his family.

What a great day!!!

Wow God is good! Nearly 40 MEN stepped up to the Challenge. Now the next step is 2 fold...

1) Those that came who can you bring with you? Bring teenage boys, if you think they are old enough to attend, that are transitioning to manhood. Bring you hunting/fishing buddy, your brother, any man that needs a vision of Godly Manhood.

2) Can you finish the challenge? Are you willing to sacrifice in order to grow? Remember that a man must die to himself in order to truly live full out for God.

I am excited to see MEN of Coweta, banding together regardless of church background, wanting to see a Revival in this community for the Kingdom of God!!!!
